Me&

Before Jo&, I worked for 30 years leading and project managing large creative and strategic teams for global luxury and retail brands. In tandem, I fed my passion for interior design by buying wrecks and renovating them – designing, sourcing and partnering, over and over again. As time went on, friends and colleagues began to ask for advice or to offer commissions on their homes.

Putting the ‘&’ in design

So I made the jump and set up Jo&. The ‘&’ was chosen to highlight my focus on building strong partnerships with my clients and industry partners. I’ve seen how building mutual respect and trust results in something far more than the sum of the parts. 

A rigorous approach

I bring professionalism and rigour to unpicking my client’s briefs, along with a solid process and clear communication. My passion for design and sourcing is paired with a meticulous attention to detail, hands-on project management and problem solving. 

Your home, my home

I approach every project as I would my own home. Focusing on clever, resourceful design solutions, I never throw the baby out with the bath water. So I restore, add, source and reimagine where I can or create a better solutions if needed. With the magic of colour, materials, lighting and objects I inject warmth, fun and personality.

JO& STYLE

My style is best described as classic with a twist, with a focus on timeless, personal, welcoming interiors that go beyond current trends. Pinterest and Instagram (although useful) have a lot to answer for – trends are often a waste of money, especially on big ticket permanent items that will date quickly.

Classics vs Trends

Think of it like investing in a timeless little black dress and then accessorising it with items that inject your personality and current fashions. I use classic, quality materials and design to build a foundation that enhances your home, which I then dress for added joy. 

 

Creating joy

I create warm homes rich in atmosphere that feel instantly familiar and welcoming. By understanding the flow of your home, I find clever ways to make your space work harder, sing and be playful, creating small pockets of joy throughout. The result is a real home, not a show home.

Built on 30 years’ experience managing large creative and delivery teams for global brands, my process takes the strain out of a building/renovation project and makes it a joyful experience. 

From concept to completion 

No matter the scale or scope I offer a tailored, end-to-end service. We’ll work together to unravel your brief, understand how you live, how you want to use your spaces and how you want the place to feel. An onsite visit is a great opportunity to discuss your priorities, budgets and vision. 

Flow and form 

We’ll look at how the spaces flow and tailor layouts for the most effective and exciting use of space. Using colour, form, lighting, texture and selected pieces, we’ll create warm spaces that sing to the head and heart, bringing of joy on the way.  

A hand on your shoulder

I know how daunting the whole process can feel, especially if you’re time poor and haven’t ever done something like this before. So I’ll guide you gently through the whole design process, sharing concepts, then developing and adding detailing based on your feedback.  

Professional reassurance

Where needed, I will introduce you to my trusted pool of architects, builders and specialists. Together, we’ll manage the build and installation to make what can be one of the most potentially stressful experiences a joy.
